Match shock length to your lift height and check fitment on each product page.

The right shock is the one sized for your lift. Shock makers list an extended and compressed length or a lift range for each part number, and that range has to match your suspension so the shock does not top out or bottom out. If your lift kit came without shocks, this is where to start.

Fitment: Jeep Wrangler JL, JK and TJ/LJ, Gladiator JT and 2021+ Ford Bronco, from Fox, Bilstein, Rock Krawler, MetalCloak, Teraflex and Icon. Check each product page for front or rear position and lift range.

FAQs

Monotube or twin-tube?

Monotube shocks generally shed heat better on long or rough trails, while twin-tube shocks are often softer and cheaper for daily use. Check the maker's description for each shock.

Do I need to replace shocks in pairs?

Yes. Replace front shocks as a pair and rear shocks as a pair so the Jeep stays balanced side to side.

What do remote reservoirs add?

A remote reservoir holds extra oil and gas outside the shock body, which helps keep damping consistent when the shock heats up on long rough sections.
