The Front Dana 44 Axle Conversion Base Kit is a tremendous upgrade to convert your factory CAD housing into a one-piece axle design, providing increased strength and durability for your Rubicon JL Wrangler.

The axles are designed with large 5-7166X Series Spicer U-Joints. The Spicer U-Joints are engineered with a solid cold-formed body while the bearing cups are heat treated for strength. The U-joint is precision ground and case hardened for durability and the multi-lip seal keeps the grease in and contaminants out. The Spicer U-Joints come fully assembled with standard clips and are ready to install.
The axles include both the passenger and driver side axle shafts and come with a block off plate. The block off plate replaces the vacuum-actuated fork housing, allowing you to convert your center axle disconnect (CAD) housing into a one-piece axle design.
Note: Removal of the FAD system may cause driveshaft vibrations. It will require a programmer (Tazer Mini) to remove the dash light warning.
